7.5” Camp Knife
This 7.5-inch camp knife is forged from 1084 high-carbon steel and built to work. It’s a stout, forward-weighted chopper designed for splitting kindling, processing firewood, and handling tough camp tasks. If you needed to clear brush or build shelter, this blade has the mass and durability to get it done.
The brute de forge finish preserves the forged character of the steel — honest and functional.
The handle is dyed red oak, secured with solid copper pins for a simple, durable grip suited to outdoor use. It comes with a custom-fitted leather sheath for safe carry and storage.
A straightforward, hardworking blade for backcountry and camp use.
👋 This knife comes standard with a right-hand carry sheath. Left-hand sheath available upon request, please email Ry Smith directly or contact me via the contact form.

🇺🇸 100% USA-Made by Hand
The steel is sourced from the United States, forged, and finished by hand in my backyard shop. The handle wood is sourced from small, family-run businesses in AZ, MT (women-owned), and WI, and I make the leather sheaths by hand, custom fit to each knife — including dying and treating the untanned leather. In a world full of machine-made, perfectly sterile tools, I aim to make something with character and integrity you can feel, perfectly balanced, in your hand. Read more 👉 about me.

Brute de Forge finish, French for "rough from the forge", the textured area of the blade, near the spine, is a natural oxide layer on the steel formed during hand-forging and heat treatment. It preserves the character of each hammer strike, creating a unique surface pattern that contrasts beautifully with the knife’s polished edge and bevel.
Full tang, fixed blade — the blade runs continuously through the handle for a strong, well-balanced tool that meets the demands of the backcountry and has a confidence-inspiring feel in your hand.
